Robert K. Hatcher
Robert K. Hatcher joined Clarity’s Board of Directors in 2002. Mr. Hatcher serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cockrell Interests, Inc., Texas Production Company and Pinto Investment Partners. Mr. Hatcher also serves as Chairman of the Finance Advisory Committee for Pinto Technology Ventures, L.P. and is on the Board of Directors of several Pinto Group portfolio companies. Prior to joining Cockrell Interests in 2001, Mr. Hatcher founded and served as Managing Director of Citywest Ventures, a Houston-based private equity and financial advisory firm. During 1999 and 2000, Mr. Hatcher served as Managing Director of Corporate Strategy and Development of Metamor Worldwide, Inc., a multi-national information technology professional services firm. Mr. Hatcher also served on the Executive Committee of Metamor and as President of its venture capital group. Prior to joining Metamor, Mr. Hatcher was a corporate finance and securities partner in Vinson & Elkins L.L.P. He received a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University and a M.B.A. and J.D. from Tulane University.
Thomas M. Loarie
Thomas M. Loarie joined Clarity’s Board of Directors in 2005. Mr. Loarie has participated in the health care industry for thirty-four years, bringing more than twenty medical devices to market worldwide. Mr. Loarie has served as co-founder and Chairman of CardioProfile, Inc.; Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of KeraVision, Inc.; Chief Operating Officer of Novacor, Inc.; and as President of American Heyer-Schulte (Division of American Hospital Supply, now Baxter, Inc.). Mr. Loarie has served as Assistant Professor of Surgery, Creighton University Medical School; Chairman-elect, Board Member, and Executive Committee member of AdvaMed (the Advanced Medical Technology Association); and as a board member of the California Healthcare Institute. Mr. Loarie serves as a Trustee of the Graduate Theological Union (Berkeley, CA) and on the advisory board of Uptake Medical, Inc. (Seattle, WA). Mr. Loarie received his B.S.M.E. from the University of Notre Dame, and participated in graduate business studies at the Universities of Minnesota and Chicago.
Jeffrey R. Otten
Jeffrey R. Otten joined Clarity’s Board of Directors in 2006. Mr. Otten has more than twenty-five years in health care operating experience. Most recently, Mr. Otten was Chief Executive Officer of Stentor Corporation, a PACS imaging company sold to Phillips just prior to IPO. Prior to Stentor, Mr. Otten served as Chief Executive Officer of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the $1.4 billion non-profit teaching division of Harvard Medical School, as Chief Operating Officer at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and as Chief Financial Officer at UCLA Medical Center. Mr. Otten has served on numerous boards, including serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Ardias Corporation, Chair of the University HealthSystem Consortium, and as board member of the Massachussetts Hospital Association and the Council of Teaching Hospitals of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Mr. Otten holds an M.A. and M.B.A. from University of California at Los Angeles.
Matthew S. Crawford
Matthew S. Crawford joined Clarity’s Board of Directors in 2009. He serves as Managing Director of PTV Sciences. Mr. Crawford is on the boards of Alereon, Inc., Apollo Endosurgery, Inc., IDev Technologies, Inc., LDR Spine USA, Inc. and On-X Life Technologies, Inc. Prior to founding PTV Sciences, Mr. Crawford was a partner at Academy Funds; a venture capital firm based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. While at Academy, Mr. Crawford participated in the creation and financing of many life and materials science companies in North Carolina. Mr. Crawford participates on the Business Advisory Board for the Institute of the Study of Aging in New York City and Alumni Council Board at Wake Forest University where he received a B.A. and M.B.A. After graduation, Mr. Crawford joined First Union Capital Markets Corporation and rose to Vice President during his six years at the firm where he worked with all aspects of financing small, mid-size and large companies.
